Peasant Month Mobilization

After 20 years of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program, nearly eight out of every Filipino farmer remains landless. Contrary to its promise, the CARP has worsened the condition of the peasants in the Philippines.
Today, farmers from the Southern Tagalog Region and Central Luzon, after a week of marching from the provinces marched from the Department of Agriculture towards Mendiola Bridge to call for land, rights and justice. Other sectors and organizations including the League of Filipino Students joined them in the protest.
