As Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino III is sworn in today (Wednesday) as the country’s 15th President, we figured that he could use a little help from technology.

After all, his campaign was one of the most successful ones waged in cyberspace.

An iPad, a lie detector, a high-tech phone with all the apps? Here are the gadgets a modern President can rely on…

* * *

A simple phone will do if he’s got the right mind and heart to hire the best team who will follow him up about everything. A gadget will not make a difference in one’s leadership, the right attitude will. – Rica Peralejo, TV host

I think President Noynoy needs an iPad so that he will be a multimedia savvy president where he can read books and newspapers, and watch news and current events on the go. – Benedidict Carandang, creative entrepreneur, Tuldok Animation

I think our second President Aquino could use the same universal remote control Adam Sandler used in the movie ‘Click.’ With this modern day magic wand, his presidency will be able to rewind the bad choices and make them good, fast forward the dreams to see if they are possible and pause a moment to give himself time for his own life. Oh and also with this universal remote, he can record, edit and playback only the memories that inspire a nation for future presidents and their leadership. The power switch will be in his hands. – Martin Nievera, Philippine concert king

Definitely an iPhone and iPad because they are the gadgets of the 21st century. It would signify that he is ‘in’ with the times and it would most likely give the impression that he is willing to listen to the youth. It would likewise be convenient. – Donita Rose, TV host and model

His Twitter account is perfect already to reach out to the youth. I hope he maintains it! – Bianca Gonzalez, TV host and youth advocate

I feel that the best gadget that would help President Noynoy in his presidency is a smartphone like the Droid X, for example. With this device, it will allow him to take pictures and maintain a more personal connection and share his experiences with the Filipino people with the use of those photos through an online photo journal that may be entitled as The Philippines in the Eyes of P-Noy. The same gadget can also be used as an effective communication device, which allows him to stay connected with his constituents through the email, chat and video conferencing capabilities. – Brigitte Danielle V. Rodriguez, cum laude, St. Scholastica’s College

He needs an iPad with a 24/7 subscription to our website www.lfs.ph. so that he would know the issues the Filipino youth are facing, such as skyrocketing tuition increases and very low government spending on education. – Terry Ridon, League of Filipino Students president

A laptop, so that he can surf the internet anytime, anywhere. Everything that he needs to know is now in the internet. – JC Tiuseco, TV personality

Lie detector. Hahahaha! The gadget that Noy should have would be Facebook and YouTube enabled phone. This way there will be no cordon sanitaire to communicate with him. The next leadership is a networked leadership not just with problems but with solutions that come from grassroots and not bureaucracy which filters innovation. The way he will see which one to look at will be through some kind of electronic poll of ‘like’ and ‘dislike’ weekly. – Illac Diaz, social entrepreneur

A polygraph machine or lie detector machine, so he can instantly find out who’s lying and stealing in his administration. – Julius Babao, news anchor

President Noynoy Aquino should have a computer and wireless broadband so he can easily connect via Skype with foreign leaders around the globe. – Enchong Dee, TV actor and athlete

Nothing else aside from a mobile phone. It might distract him from addressing the numerous problems our country has. For reading though, a Kindle or an iPad. – Sitti, singer

I think President Noynoy should have a Blackberry phone or an iPhone with a Twitter application so ordinary people can tweet him their questions and suggestions, and he can reply to them immediately. – Nelson Alindogan, executive producer, TV5

I think Noynoy should have a GoPro camera and attach it to the back of his head so he can watch out for those who will stab him at the back. – Aissa PeñafIel, director

An iPad. It’s the most convenient thing for him to review policies and decrees. At the same time be updated on national programs. He can do this anywhere around the world. It’s mobile decision-making at his fingertips. – Lorenz de Castro, DLSU university student government president

The most ideal gadget that President Noy should have is a portable polygraph machine, so he can ensure that his cabinet members are upholding truth and integrity at all times. But on the more practical side, a good PDA with an extended battery life would be highly useful for our president. – Mariz Umali, broadcast journalist

Electric razor for his hair! – Ariel Rivera, actor and singer

A Casio Pro-Tek Titanium triple sensor (Tough Solar). It has all the gears, compass, barometer, altimeter, tide graph, water resistant 200 meters timer, he will be needing it when he travels to visit different parts of the country. – Diether Ocampo, actor and youth advocate

Blackberry phone with unlimited access for Twitter. It has been proven to be very useful in times of calamities. And he can personally receive info regarding problems that need to be addressed as soon as possible. Indeed, he can be a president who can maximize technology for effective leadership. – Nicolette Henson, Binibining Pilipinas 2010 runner-up

I honestly think that at this point in time P-Noy doesn’t need any gadget but faith in God, and God fearing people around him. – Verni Varga, singer

Smart phone with Android Operating System. So that all practical apps suited for his function as president would come in handy, that is, finance, weather, news, etc. – Patrick Erestain, United Nations Development Programme

Noynoy should have an iPod updated weekly with OPM music so he could support not only the Philippine economy but the OPM songs/artists of his choice and hype it in the world music industry. – Duncan Ramos, music artist

A Franklin electronic bible. Noy is coming into a government that is saddled with corruption, mediocrity and compromise and a nation that is burdened with poverty, crime, unemployment and helplessness. He will need divine inspiration and wisdom to lead us and only the Word of God can see this country rise again from ashes. This gadget he can carry anywhere and it is easy to read. You just type a keyword and verses will spring up. It will be his sword. – AngeI Pangilinan, talent manager and mother

An iPad to provide him with everything he needs regarding issues at hand at a touch of a finger. When he needs to re-energize, there are applications that can help provide him what his mind, his soul, his heart, and his spirit may need, in the form of audio and video formats. His speeches, his thoughts, his proposals, his prayers, his music, his nephews’ and nieces’ video clips, all in one excellent package. – Gary Valenciano, total entertainer

A DSLR camera, para makuhanan niya ng picture lahat ng performing at non-performing government employees every time mag-surprise visit siya sa mga government offices. – Mildred Ople, ayala young leaders alliance

A portable lie detector device! Since his campaign is anchored on integrity and honesty, thus he will be primarily judged based on these two values. He could use this when talking, interacting and negotiating with his cabinet members, government officials and even foreign leaders – to see if any one of them are not being truthful to him. The same shall be used on him to prove all the time that he is honest! – Kirk Chester Damasco, young entrepreneur, GetBlued

An electronic cigarette! (Also known as an e-cigarette or personal vaporizer, it is a battery-powered device that provides inhaled doses of nicotine by way of a vaporized solution.) This will allow him staying power during long meetings, less smoke breaks – of course I’m assuming he will never smoke indoors, during a meeting nor near or around non-smokers. At least give it an electronic puff, Mr. President – I have a feeling this won’t hurt. – Gang Badoy, www.dearnoynoy.com, Rethink Media group and RockEd Philippines
